Former presidential candidate Mitt Romney will thank supporters of his presidential bid during his upcoming speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference next month, Romney said in a statement announcing his CPAC appearance Wednesday.

“I look forward to saying thank you to the many friends and supporters who were instrumental in helping my campaign,” said Romney in a press release from the American Conservative Union, which puts on the event.

“The thousands gathered at CPAC this year are eager to hear from the 2012 GOP presidential candidate at his first public appearance since the elections,” ACU Chairman Al Cardenas said in the same press release. “We look forward to hearing Governor Romney’s comments on the current state of affairs in America and the world, and his perspective on the future of the conservative movement.”

Romney’s decision to appearance at CPAC was first reported by National Review Online.
