Mitt Romney will become the latest GOP candidate to make the trek to meet Donald Trump, meeting him at Trump Towers on 5th Avenue at 2 PM on Monday. The meeting, set up at Romney’s request will be the first time that the two have met since the former Massachusetts governor declared his candidacy several months ago.
The meeting could be awkward. Trump has previously taken quite a few shots at Romney, for instance, telling CNN’s Candy Crowley in April that “my net worth is many, many, many times Mitt Romney.”
The pair are expected to dine together, in keeping with the tradition Mr. Trump has established with other members of the Republican field. No word yet on where the meal will take place, but aides to Mr. Romney told the New York Times that they expected to “fall somewhere between fast food pizza with a fork” and a tasting menu at Jean Georges.
