Mitt Romney is out today with another ad focusing on Medicare. Titled “Nothing’s Free,” it hits President Obama over cuts to Medicare. “The Romney-Ryan plan will restore Medicare funding and protect and strengthen the program for the next generation,” the ad’s voiceover says.
The ad launches a misleading attack attack on Obama for raising taxes on middle class Americans: “Raising taxes on families making less than one hundred and twenty thousand dollars.” The tax they are refering to is not a broad tax but the individual mandate — which the Supreme Court ruled was a tax — and which would be paid by a small number of people who decide not to get health insurance.
