Mitt Romney’s Free and Strong America PAC donated $2,000 to Kris Kobach’s 2010 campaign for Kansas secretary of state, according to a review of campaign finance records by ThinkProgress. The donation made the PAC one of the largest donors to Kobach’s campaign.
Kobach is the architect of the harsh anti-immigration laws in Arizona and Alabama as well as the “self-deportation” policy Romney touted earlier this year. Kobach was an adviser to Romney’s 2008 presidential bid and now says he is an ‘informal adviser” as well as supporter of his current campaign.
