Mitt Romney is going on the offense Tuesday as Democrats launch a week-long attack against Romney for his positions on higher education. Tuesday morning, the Romney campaign will hold a conference with former Sen. Hank Brown, Rep. Aaron Schock and College Republicans National Committee Chairman Alex Schriver on “the effect of President Obama’s failed policies on young adults.”

Politico got a sneak peak at Romney’s statement on young Americans and Obama:

I think this is a time when young people are questioning the support they gave to President Obama three and a half years ago. He promised bringing the country together; that sure hasn’t happened. He promised a future with good jobs and good opportunity; that hasn’t happened. And the pathway that he pursued is one which has not worked. Young people recognize that and I think that’s why they’re going to increasingly look for a different approach.

The Romney camp is also preparing research on how college graduates have suffered in the recession. Romney undercut Democrats’ attacks Monday when he came out in favor of extending subsidized lower interest rates on federal loans.
