The Romney campaign has pounced on comments made by Obama senior advisor David Axelrod Sunday morning, arguing that Axelrod made the case for Mitt Romney over President Obama. Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Axelrod outlined a choice over our economic future between the two candidates:
The choice in this election is between economy that produces a growing middle class and that gives people a chance to get ahead and their kids a chance to get ahead, and an economy that continues down the road we are on, where a fewer and fewer number of people do very well, and everybody else is running faster and faster just to keep pace.
The Romney campaign quickly put the comments into a video called: “Obama adviser David Axelrod makes case for Mitt Romney for President.” Later in the interview, Axelrod seemed to imply that by “the road we are on” he was referring to the failed policies of the last decade, not President Obama’s.

The campaign took to Twitter to promote what Axelrod said and other conservatives followed suit. RedState’s Erick Erickson tweeted:
