Mitt Romney has a message for Hispanic voters concerned about his support for hard-right immigration policies and it’s the same message he has for everyone else: jobs. The campaign is out with a slick infographic highlighting job losses in the Hispanic community over the last several years. In an awkward slip, however, one of the numbers detailing declines in income starts in 2008, when President Bush was still in charge. The release is the latest example of how the campaign hopes to overcome inherent deficits with certain groups — namely women, Hispanics, and young people — by relentlessly pushing the economy as their top issue.
