After the city’s police chief declined to say whether or not he’s linked to a massive gun and drug trafficking probe, Toronto Mayor Rob Ford said Thursday that he has “nothing to hide.”

“They can investigate and you can do whatever you want . . . I have nothing to hide,” Ford told reporters, as quoted by the Toronto Star.

Earlier in the day, Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair revealed that a morning raid had yielded 40 firearms, $3 million worth of drugs and new arrests, but he refused to say whether or not the embattled mayor — thrust in the international spotlight after drawing crack smoking allegations  — was connected to the probe.

According to the Star, police raided the home of a shooting victim who appears in a photo with Ford and a homicide victim. Ford grew testy with reporters when questioned about the raid.

“You guys can’t get it through your thick skulls. I’ve already answered all these questions. I have nothing to do with this,” he said, according to the Star.
