Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus on Monday issued a statement announcing Chris McNulty as the organization’s new political director. An Ohio native, McNulty served as deputy executive director for House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) since 2010.

“I am thrilled to announce Chris McNulty will serve as the new Political Director at the RNC. I look forward to working with Chris as we learn from the Growth and Opportunity Project recommendations and work to change the RNC’s political department to reach new voters across the country. Chris will be an asset as the Committee works to improve our engagement and infrastructure and to implement new strategies that will better allow us to train grassroots volunteers to achieve Republican victories. I am confident Chris’s enthusiasm, energy and extensive political background at the state level, specifically in the areas of grassroots organization and ground game experience, will prove invaluable as we move forward,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus.

Chairman Priebus continued, “I would like to take the opportunity to thank outgoing Political Director Rick Wiley for his leadership, commitment and hard work over this past cycle. His guidance and knowledge was a critical asset as we worked alongside the Romney Campaign to make gains in the states for Republican candidates up and down the ticket. I’m incredibly grateful for Rick’s service to the RNC and the Party.”
