The Republican National Committee pulled in $8.17 million in August, easily eclipsing a $5.5 million month from their partisan rival, the Democratic National Committee.
The RNC has been financially troubled in recent years compared to the DNC, making the haul especially impressive, reports Roll Call. Republicans now have $9.3 million cash on hand, but also $15.9 million in debt.
