Rick Santorum told CNN’s Piers Morgan, who played a highlight reel of his most controversial lines from the primary, that his criticism of President Obama as a “snob” for suggesting all Americans go to college (which he didn’t) was his worst moment.

He said that he regretted it specifically because he learned that Obama in fact had not said the statement in question, which he misread secondhand.

His wife, Karen Santorum, told Piers Morgan that was also her least favorite Santorum gaffe.

“It was the snob comment and I wish he hadn’t said that,” she said.
