The Rhode Island state Senate voted to legalize same-sex marriage on Wednesday, following the House which approved a similar bill in January, BuzzFeed reported. The vote was 26-12.

The House now needs to pass the slightly updated version, which is expected to pass easily. Gov. Lincoln Chafee (I) has said he will sign the bill into law.

With Chafee’s signature, Rhode Island will become the 10th state along with the District of Columbia to allow same-sex marriage.
