The Republican Governors Association announced Tuesday it raised $12.2 million in the first quarter of 2012. The three-month haul is significantly more than the Democratic Governors Association’s $8 million.
From CNN:
The RGA reported having $34 million cash on hand, which they said is the most money they have ever had in the bank at the end of a first quarter.
The RGA had a banner year in 2011, raising a total of $44 million, more than doubling its fundraising total from 2007, which it called the last comparable election year.
