Rezwan Ferdaus, a 27-year-old Massachusetts man who pleaded guilty to plotting to attack the Capitol and the Pentagon using remote-controlled airplanes loaded with explosives, was sentenced to 17 years in federal prison on Thursday.
Ferdaus was under FBI surveillance when he developed the plan and traveled to Washington, D.C. to take pictures of his targets. He was arrested in September 2011 and pleaded guilty in July as part of a plea deal with federal prosecutors.
