The suspect in the deadly attack against a Colorado Planned Parenthood clinic said Wednesday in court that he was guilty and a “warrior for the babies,” a local CBS affiliate reported.
Robert Lewis Dear is accused of killing one police officer and two civilians and injuring nine others in a shooting at the Colorado Springs clinic on Nov. 27.
Dear said he was guilty in a court hearing Wednesday where prosecutors said they were filing 179 counts against him, including murder, according to local TV station KCNC.
“I am guilty, there will be no trial,” he was quoted as saying. “I am a warrior for the babies.”
The Gazette reported that Dear had multiple outbursts during the hearing.
Dear also shouted out, “Protect the babies,” and “I will not meet with him again,” seemingly referring to the public defender on his case, Dan King, according to The Denver Post.
