Lance Armstrong admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs during an interview with Oprah Winfrey scheduled to air on Thursday, the New York Times reported:
It is unclear, though, how forthcoming Armstrong was about his doping program, which the United States Anti-Doping Agency has said was part of the most sophisticated, organized and professional doping scheme in the history of sports. Armstrong, when reached by e-mail Monday, said he could not discuss the interview.
ABC News and USA Today also reported Armstrong’s admission. Winfrey is scheduled to appear on “CBS This Morning” Tuesday to preview her interview with Armstrong. The Times also reported that Armstrong plans to testify against International Cycling Union officials and possibly even in a federal whistle-blower case.
Correction: An earlier version of this post reported that Winfrey would appear on CBS on Thursday. She is scheduled to appear on Tuesday.
