A secret service member accidentally left her loaded service weapon in the bathroom of presumitive Republican nominee Mitt Romney’s campaign plane during a trip from Tampa, Fla. to Indianapolis, according to a report from the New York Times. A CBS reporter found the weapon and reported it, and another agent collected the gun.
“By all accounts, the gun appeared to have been left inadvertently and Mr. Romney was never considered in any danger,” the Times wrote. “The agent involved stayed behind in Indianapolis to address the matter with her supervisors when Mr. Romney returned to Tampa for the remainder of the Republican National Convention.”
