Embattled San Diego Mayor Bob Filner (D), who’s facing numerous allegations of sexual harassment, completed his two-week therapy session a week early on Friday, ABC’s 10 News reported.
Finer’s chief-of-staff confirmed to 10 News that the mayor entered his “intensive” therapy session, originally scheduled for August 5, one week early because of “intense media coverage.”
While Filner has ignored a growing chorus calling for his resignation, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) became the most prominent politician to push him to step down Friday.
“Bob, you have already hurt so many people. To avoid hurting your victims and the people of San Diego more than you already have, you should step down immediately,” Boxer wrote in an open letter.
