Raghuveer Nayak, a former fundraiser for U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.), was arrested on Wednesday morning, according to a report by the Chicago Sun-Times. The newspaper, citing anonymous sources, said he was arrested at his home.
Nayak figured prominently in the pay-to-play scandal that sent former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich to prison for 14 years. Nayak allegedly offered to raise $1 million for the governor if Blagojevich would appoint Jackson to the U.S. Senate seat vacated by President Obama.
