The Obama administration is expected to allow religious-based organizations to opt out from providing contraception coverage for employees, CNN reported Friday.
The news comes almost a year removed from a political fracas centered around the administration’s mandate that required health insurance companies to cover birth control. CNN quoted a source who detailed the change in policy, which is expected to be announced Friday.

The administration is expected to detail how it will handle two of the more controversial situations, said a source familiar with Friday’s announcement.
“Religiously affiliated organizations will be given the option of exempting themselves from the requirement of providing their employees with contraceptive access or service that they are morally opposed to,” said the source.
