Report: Chrome Malware Warning Fixed, Caused By Ad Network Hack

The malware warning that a number of users of Google’s Chrome Web browser encountered when attempting to visit popular news and media websites on Monday morning has reportedly been fixed, according to a ZDNet report quoting NetSeer, an online advertising company that suffered a hack to its homepage around 8:30 a.m. EST, causing linked Web ads on other websites to trigger the Chrome security warning. As a NetSeer spokesperson told ZDNet

A NetSeer spokesperson said the company is “pleased to announce” that Google has removed the ad network from the list of sites impacted by malware.
