Did you know Apple was recently sued for trademark infringement and fraud in obtaining the name “iPad” from a Chinese company called Proview? In any case, the infringement suit, filed by Proview in China in February, may be coming to a relatively peaceful conclusion. Apple and Proview have been recommended to settle the dispute through mediation, according to IDG News Service

Coming as it does on the heels of an earlier report that Apple CEO Tim Cook is also poised to engage in direct settlement talks in a separate legal battle with Samsung, it seems as though Apple is, overall, in a settling mood these days. That’s quite a departure from the attitude expressed in an infamous quote by the late Steve Jobs, who said he would go to “thermonuclear war” with Android and “spend every penny of Apple’s $40 billion in the bank, to right this wrong.”
