Adam Schiff, D-Calif. speaks on Capitol Hill in Washington. A newly approved U.S. aid package of weapons to Syrian rebels may be too little, too late to reverse recent battlefield gains by President Bashar Assad _ and few in Washington are enthusiastic about sending it. But the White House is pushing ahead nonetheless with the arms, which one official described as mostly light weapons, under the belief that doing something is better than doing nothing to help in the two-year Syrian civil war that has killed more than 100,000 people, even if the package is far less than what rebels say they need to turn the tide. Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said on Sunday that he has concerns about the use of drones by companies like Amazon to deliver packages to consumers.

“That drone is going to need cameras on it to guide it,” Schiff said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “I think people are going to have real privacy problems.”

Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, said last week that his company is looking into using delivery drones within the next five years.

Schiff added that he is worried that other countries could gain the capabiltity to deploy armed drones.

“I do have a grave concern that as drone technology proliferates many other countries are going to start employing it and employing it with lethal capabilities. And that’s a big problem,” he said.
