Congressman Ted Deutch (D-FL) reacts to the Justice Department’s decision to intervene in Florida’s voter list purge:

As more and more legitimate voters throughout Florida find their voting rights in jeopardy, I applaud the Department of Justice for calling on Governor Scott to suspend this outrageous voter purge. This purge is neither transparent nor accurate, and it violates federal law. The Department of Justice’s letter, and the decision issued by a federal judge blocking key elements of Florida’s voter suppression law, form two major blows against Governor Scotts blatant campaign to suppress the vote immediately in advance of the presidential election.
