Patrick Moran, the 23-year-old son of Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA), on Monday night made his first television appearance since resigning from his father’s campaign amid a voter fraud scandal.
Rep. Moran appeared on WTTG in Washington, D.C. alongside his son, who quit after he was shown on video offering guidance on how to commit voter fraud to an undercover operative working with conservative activist James O’Keefe. The congressman said his son learned a tough life lesson about politics.
The younger Moran said he was angry with himself for not immediately informing the police and called his actions a result of “outright stupidity.” He said he “didn’t appreciate the magnitude of what he was saying.”
