Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-KS) says his demotion by House GOP leadership suggests a “purge” of conservatives within the party.

“At the end of the day we lost seats in the House, we lost seats in the Senate, we couldn’t win the presidency, and the [response] is to purge conservatives,” Huelskamp said at a blogger breifing at the Heritage Foundation. He blamed the party’s losses on not articulating a clear enough “distinction” on taxes and spending during the election.
