Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) caught a lot of attention this week when he tweeted, and then deleted, several expressive messages to a young blonde woman during the State of the Union address on Tuesday, causing some to recall another lawmaker caught with his pants down on Twitter: Former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY).

Cohen on Thursday explained that the young woman is his daughter and they had only met about three years ago. In an interview with CNN on Friday, Cohen expressed his displeasure about the comparison.

“It was absurd to start with,” he said. “The press was wrong to do what they did.”
