Rep. Ron Barber (D-AZ), who was injured in the Tucson, Ariz., shooting two years ago, said Tuesday that he believes the most serious issues concerning gun control will be resolved by Congress, not executive order.
Barber told CNN that he would have to see President Obama’s potential executive order to reduce gun violence before deciding whether he supports it.
“I believe, though, generally speaking, that any changes that are gonna impact the public and public policy ought to be made through the congressional process, where we can have hearings, we can have floor debate, and we can actually enact laws,” Barber said.
He added: “I believe the most serious aspects of this issue are going to be resolved that way, not by executive order.”
