Rep. Alan Nunnelee (R-MS) announced that he will undergo brain surgery Monday.

The second-term congressman said in a statement Thursday that the small mass found on the right side of his brain is “isolated.” He arrived Wednesday at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

“I have been blessed throughout this process to not only have a great team of doctors, but also your prayers and support,” he said in the written statement. “I am grateful for your continued prayers, thoughts, and well-wishes for a speedy recovery.”
