Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus responded Sunday to the tone of the last GOP debate, calling this year’s primary has having “plenty of drama and intrigue.”

Priebus called it a “contentious primary” in an interview with George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “This Week.” Stephanopoulos asked Priebus to respond to the last GOP debate where the ABC host said the candidates got “so far off track.”

“Well, look, you know, it’s a contentious primary. And obviously, George, there’s plenty of drama and intrigue,” Priebus said. “I agree. I think the tone should improve. And I would hope that at the next debate, things are improved over the last debate as far as tone and rhetoric.”
