Reince Priebus locked up his re-election bid for Republican National Committee chairman Thursday when his sole challenger failed to get enough support in Friday’s vote to select the next chair, Politico reports:
Reince Priebus’s reelection to another two-year term was guaranteed when a 5 p.m. deadline passed Thursday. His sole challenger, Maine committeeman Mark Willis, did not have the support required from three state delegations to get on the ballot for a formal vote on Friday.
Priebus’ success is due to his efforts to reach out to Ron Paul supporters, according to Politico.
