Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) announced on the Senate floor on Tuesday that Bob Dole, 1996 presidential candidate and Senate GOP leader, has been hospitalized. Dole is 89.
“He is at Walter Reed not for a checkup,” Reid said, according to CBS News. “He is there because he is infirm. He is sick.”
UPDATE: NBC’s Kelly O’Donnell reports that Dole is doing “very well” and will be released on Wednesday.
