RedState founder Erick Erickson was one of Rick Perry’s early backers, as well as being one of the high profile pundits who yesterday urged him to drop out and back Gingrich instead. In a post on the conservative site, Erickson says, “looks like we have a race now,” and notes one of the ways having Rick Perry on-board could help Newt:
Governor Perry will also campaign for Speaker Gingrich in Texas. Texas has more than enough delegates at 155 (they are proportional) to offset Newt Gingrich not being on the Virginia ballot, which only has 49 delegates.
