Reason editor-in-chief Nick Gillespie conducted a fake interview with President Obama on Tuesday, testing the limits of libertarian humor on April Fools’ Day.
Following in the footsteps of an earlier gag by conservative author and convicted felon Dinesh D’Souza, Gillespie chopped up stock footage of Obama to make him appear clueless.
“Barack, why don’t you tell us just a big, fat lie?” Gillespie said with a frown.
“This is the most transparent administration in history,” Obama responded.
For extra fun, Reason ran a “preview” of an interview with Joe Biden, in which it manipulated footage of Biden failing to count to ten as Gillespie mugged for the camera.
