Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) on Wednesday will discuss the Republican Party’s efforts to improve inclusion and outreach to minority community at Howard University in Washington, D.C.

Paul’s speech at the historically black school will “focus on the importance of outreach to younger voters, as well as minority groups,” according to a release on the university’s website.

“He will also discuss the history of the African-American community’s roots in the Republican Party and current issues, such as school choice and civil liberties,” the release continued.

Paul rose to national prominence last month with a 13-hour filibuster of the nomination of John Brennan to head the Central Intelligence Agency. The Kentucky libertarian has made no secret of the fact that he harbors presidential ambitions.
