Progressive Congressional candidate Lori Saldaña is releasing her first ad in her primary run against her opponent, former San Diego City Councilman Scott Peters.

The ad buy is expected to be in the tens of thousands of dollars and run online with “voter-targeting technology” to reach “persuadable likely voters and Get-Out-the-Vote targets,” according to the Progressive Change Campaign Committee which endorsed Saldaña last month. The primary is on June 5. The winner will take on Republican Rep. Brian Bilbray in the general election and Democrats have high hopes of taking the seat.

The ad claims that Peters will cut Social Security and other entitlements and shows a clip of Peters saying he favors a “balanced approach” to cutting spending.
