The Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC) on Friday said that Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) has seen a fundraising blitz on the heels of his intense interview with conservative commentator Sean Hannity.

In an email to TPM on Friday, the PCCC said that it has raised $15,000 from 1,400 small dollar donors in the last 24 hours on behalf of Ellison’s re-election bid. The group has been using the interview, during which Ellison called Hannity “immoral” and the “worst excuse for a journalist I’ve ever seen,” as a fundraising tool. Ellison probably won’t require a lot of campaign cash to secure re-election next year. In his last three elections, he’s claimed at least 67 percent of the vote in his liberal Minneapolis district.

On Thursday, Hannity escalated his attacks on Ellison, highlighting the Muslim congressman’s “radical connections.”
