Barbara Buono, a progressive state senator in New Jersey, has filed papers to challenge Republican Gov. Chris Christie in 2013, she announced in a YouTube video released Tuesday. Newark Mayor Cory Booker has signaled that he will decide whether or not to take on Christie in the next two weeks.

“I filed my papers and I’ll make a formal announcement early next year,” Buono says in the video. “I’m not gonna run a conventional campaign, and I won’t be anointed by the political bosses.”

In the video, Buono mentions support of marriage equality and Planned Parenthood as well as jobs and taxes as her top priorities.
