The pro-Gingrich super PAC Winning Our Future is trying to get back into the mix by attacking former Sen. Rick Santorum’s (R-PA) candidacy. C. Edmund Wright, a supporter of the PAC, was quoted in a blistering release sent to reporters essentially charing that Santorum doesn’t even belong on the same stage as the other candidates.
“You know, this wouldn’t be as much of an issue if the entire Santorum campaign hadn’t been based in the sheer fantasy that somehow he has been above political reality in his career,” Wright said in the release. “Quite the opposite is true. His over all conservative rating is not the best -– he is below Newt in that regard. And, keep in mind, this is the guy who has been the most self-righteous and the preachiest about all of his so-called pure conservatism all along.”
