Pope Francis: Church Would Be ‘Sterile’ Without Women

Pope Francis said in a speech this past weekend in Rio, Brazil that the church must develop a more prominent role for women, which it would be “sterile” without.

But, the pope said, the “door is closed” to ordaining women to the priesthood, according to the AP.
