City council Speaker Christine Quinn leads a Democratic field headlined by former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) in the New York City mayoral race, according to a poll released early Thursday from The New York Times and Siena College.
The poll found Quinn with the support 27 percent of Democratic voters, followed by Weiner, who trailed with 18 percent support. Public advocate Bill de Blasio and former comptroller William C. Thompson Jr. were tied at 11 percent, while John C. Liu, the current comptroller, lagged behind with 7 percent.
A Quinnipiac University poll released earlier this week showed Weiner edging Quinn 25 percent to 22 percent.
