Fifty-four percent of Americans disapprove of the White House’s handling of the attacks in Benghazi, Libya, according to a CNN poll released Tuesday. However, a majority of Americans, 54 percent, do not believe that the administration purposefully misled them on the attacks but rather gave the information they had at the time.

Americans are split on the scandal surrounding Gen. David Petraeus, with 44 percent of Americans saying the administration handled the CIA director’s resignation well and 44 percent saying they’re dissatisfied with the administration’s response.

The poll of 1,023 adult Americans was conducted November 16-18 and has a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points.
