President Obama leads a new poll of Ohio from bipartisan firm Purple Strategies. Obama gets 46 percent to Romney’s 44 percent, a slight change from their September poll that showed Obama up 48 percent to Romney’s 44 percent.

“President Obama has a strong lead among early voters: 26% of Ohio voters say they have already voted, and he leads by 26 points among that group,” Purple pollsters wrote in their analysis. “Romney holds a 2-point lead among independents in the state.”

The president maintains a small lead in the PollTracker Average of the crucial swing state.
