Voters in Minnesota remain split on the state’s upcoming gay marriage ban, while those in Washington seem to favor the legalization of same sex marriage in the Evergreen State, according to a pair of polls released Thursday from SurveyUSA. In Minnesota, forty-eight percent of the 572 likely voters surveyed said they would vote in favor of the amendment — which would constitutionally define marriage as a union of one man and one woman — while 47 percent said they would oppose the measure. In Washington, 52 percent of the 555 likely voters polled favored passage of Referendum 74, which would legalize gay marriage, while 43 percent opposed.
The PollTracker average in Minnesota mirrors SurveyUSA’s poll, showing support at 48 percent and opposition at 47 percent, while Washington’s PollTracker average shows support at 51 percent and opposition at 43.7 percent.
