Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) has seen a recovery to his approval ratings after falling into negative territory only a month ago, according to the latest poll form Quinnipiac University released Wednesday.

The poll found 40 percent of New Jersey voters approving of the job their junior senator is doing, compared with 37 percent who said they disapprove.

In last month’s Quinnipiac poll, Menendez saw his once-steady approval rating take a hit: 36 percent said they approved of his job performance, while 41 percent said they disapproved. It amounted to a huge drop since January, when his approval rating stood at 51 percent. Menendez has been mired in an ethics investigation for his relationship with a Florida-based political donor, but the prostitution allegations facing the New Jersey Democrat have appeared to weaken in recent weeks.

The PollTracker Average shows Menendez with a sharply divided approval rating.
