Poll Gives George Allen Narrow Edge In Virginia Senate Race

The new Rasmussen poll of the Virginia Senate race gives a narrow lead to Republican former Sen. George Allen, who lost the seat in 2006, over Democratic former Gov. Tim Kaine.

The numbers: Allen 46%, Kaine 44%. The survey of likely voters was conducted on March 20, and has a ±4.5% margin of error. In the previous Rasmussen poll from a month ago, the two were tied at 46%-46%.

The TPM Poll Average currently gives Kaine a narrow lead of 44.9%-43.9%.
