There appears to be little groundswell in New Jersey for Geraldo Rivera to enter the U.S. Senate race there next year, with a poll released Thursday showing the television personality getting trounced in a hypothetical general election matchup against Newark, N.J. Mayor Cory Booker (D).

The poll from Quinnipiac University showed 59 percent of Garden State voters giving the edge to Booker in such a matchup, while only 23 percent said they would prefer Rivera, who has said that he’s “truly contemplating” running as a socially moderate Republican.

A Monmouth University poll last week showed 65 percent of New Jersey voters declaring it unlikely that they would vote for the Fox News commentator.
