Police Pepper Spray 30 People At Santa Monica College During Board Of Trustees Meeting (VIDEO)

Police pepper sprayed up to 30 people Tuesday night at a Santa Monica College board of trustees meeting. The demonstrators were protesting the college’s plan to offer high-priced courses over the summer, the LA Times reports. A mother and a young child were reportedly among those who sought treatment after the incident. The college says it will cover the medical costs for those who suffered injuries. A spokesman for the college did not immediately respond to TPM’s request for comment, but a statement is expected this afternoon.
