Las Vegas police on Friday detained a Nevada assemblyman and confiscated a sword from him during some type of disturbance at his grandmother’s house, according to the Las Vegas Sun.
Assemblyman Steven Brooks (D) was later placed in medical custody for a psychiatric evaluation, the newspaper reported.
This was the second times Brooks had a run-in with police in the past week. On Jan. 19, he was arrested on suspicion of threatening the life of Assembly Speaker Marilyn Kirkpatrick, and police said they found a loaded gun and 41 rounds of ammunition in his car.
