The shooting that took place near the U.S. Capitol Thursday “appears” to have been an isolated incident and there is no information to suggest it was related to terrorism, Chief Kim Dine of Capitol Police told reporters at a news conference.

The gun shots that erupted were related to a vehicle that had attempted to ram through a barricade at the White House, according to the Associated Press.
